Camping At Assateague – National Seashore

During my wife’s spring break, we experienced our very first beach camping trip at Assateague National Seashore in Maryland—and it was unforgettable. Nestled between the ocean and the bay, we set up our tent just steps from the waves, with the iconic wild horses roaming freely nearby. Waking up to the sound of the surf and spotting horses grazing in the morning mist felt surreal, like a scene from a dream. Despite the wind and shifting sands, the beauty of the untouched coastline, star-filled skies, and peaceful atmosphere made it a truly magical experience. Beach camping among wild horses is something we’ll never forget—and we can’t wait to return.
